I have a pair and I were them all the time, the thing about someone dying from them, was because she got them really wet and they shrunk, and mine got wet and they didn't shrink, so I think it's depending on the brand.

if u have normal jeans and a sewing machine you should be able to tailor you own skinny jeans. XD my sister likes to alter her clothes when they don't fit and she made most of her jeans that way. :p zomg why do i know this?!
